Georges Laporte, born 17 December 1926 in Paris where he died on 7 November 2000 Is a painter , lithographer and illustrator French .
Georges Laporte was born in Montmartre, his father is a taxi driver. After studies in international business, he worked as a customs agent.
His debut painting date from 1946. He married Jeannine miss Schmitt Chalonnaise origin and comes to settle in Burgundy Chalon in 1952
then in 1959. Many Givry views of the village and its surroundings, often in the snow, will be exhibited worldwide. In 1958, he won the
Sebastien Lepage Award at Salon of French artists . Mr. Guillermet, editor in Villefranche sur Sao^ne and friend of Colette and Utrillo
encouraged to exhibit at the Petersen Lyon gallery. It will be a great success. That same year, The Haven Night street in Chalon Padres won
the Prize of the city of Aix-en-Provence to 300 painters from all over France. Mrs Frank Jay Gould bought the canvas that hangs next to
Antoine Watteau and Franc¸ois Boucher she collects. In 1960 came the first reproduction of a work, Slum in Nanterre, Nomis editions,

discovered Brittany in the 1960s . The sea becomes its main theme. It installs a studio in Quiberon . This is called gestural painting in

appear at that time. His painting evolved in the 1970s and seashores are most successful. Armand Lanoux analyzed thus: "His landscapes

Then Georges Laporte discovers Corsica. It waives the rules of traditional perspective and builds on its space plans superpostions system
Othon Friesz process used before him but that did not lead far. Georges Laporte dies in Paris on 7 November 2000; his ashes were scattered
at the tip of the Quiberon peninsula.
